No Gomez and Elias Hurt Last Game
Rich Chere at the Star-Ledger is reporting that Gomez has not gone with the team to Montreal and that Elias hurt something with his back on Thursday.
Gomez re-injured his groin again and Julien wants to make sure he's rested and (more) healthy for Tuesday's game against Carolina.
Elias apparantly hurt his back in the first period of the Islanders game; no word on whether he did or didn't make the trip. I imagine he did because it'd be pretty significant news if Elias and Gomez were to not play against Montreal tonight.
Needless to say, I'm less positive about NJ's chances tonight now that I know this. I'll put up better preview later today.
