The Rock Update
Game preview for tonight's game is below, but I feel this is worthy of it's own post. Not like these are costing me anything.
From the New Jersey Devils official website, the Devils held a topping off ceremony in Newark. What is a topping off ceremony? Well, here's an explanation from the article:
A Topping Off ceremony is a tradition among the construction community which marks the moment when the highest structural point in a building’s construction has been attained. To that end, a 40-foot, 2,500-pound steel beam was hoisted 120 feet into the air and bolted into place to serve as support for the two end roof trusses.
The best part about this ceremony is that it signals that construction is on schedule and the Prudential Center should be ready by the beginning of the 2007-2008 season. The photo galleries were last updated a week ago, but they show the arena is taking shape. If you want a more up to date image, there is a web cam. This is great news and I hope construction will continue to progress without too many problems.
